No outlet

 While driving around yesterday evening, I decided to check out the area down a road that said No Outlet. Now I know that means dead end . Even on a dead-end road, there are things to see that I have not seen before, so I am totally down with doing this. Plus, the name was nice and weird.. North fork left fork road.

Autumn meandering

 I think meandering the backroads is one of my favorite things to do. I am always looking for roads I have not traveled. 

The Goat Barn

 I was going through a box of memories and came across this one. This is my Mom's goat barn, where I spent a lot of time as a kid. Man, the memories this one photo triggers. Good ones and bad ones.

Roadside Springs

 You can find these on the backroads. This is a spring that has been tapped. Some of the best water you have tasted

Clean up after the storm

 The size of the machines they used to clean the rivers around here after the shitty storm is amazing. I watched them for a week or 2 clean this section of the river

On the Stage

 Michael Reno Harold is a local folk singer and storyteller. I have seen him a couple of times over the years. My favorite Album would have to be  Second Wind. check him out .

 Back in 2019 i went on Dead and Company tour. This photo is from that awesome time with friends in Upstate New York. right before the show this would be the Pre Party.

Backroad Adventure

 Amanda and I decided to take a little trip out to Lake Glenville in North Carolina. It is the highest lake east of the Mississippi. At the bottom is a town that was flooded. At the time, it was called Hamburg, but later changed to Glenville. This was just one of the stops on this little adventure. 

The Grand Kids

On this fine day, the grandkids helped me take a load of trash to the dump. I took this photo right before we loaded the trailer.

 

Old Country church

 This is the Old Gap Creek Baptist Church. In the River Falls area of Greenville County South Carolina. My Mother, grandmother and Uncle are buried here . this is the first round of photos on the new camera . I grew up  in this neighborhood and not much has changed through the years. A few more houses here , a few less there . but all in all ,still a quiet and beautiful area.

Sons

 These are my sons. 15 years difference between them . They both remind me of myself at their ages. I loves these guys. 

Out in Pisgah

 Out in Pisgah National Forest with the family. This is one of my favorite spots. to streams of water come together here. Makes for a great place to day camp, ( no night camping here).The trail from here is one of the best i have meandered up. Follows the river( creek) for a while.

Adventure with Kerry

 Yesterday's was a adventure. i decided to try and fix my Van . so i did a bit of research and from what i read on forums. i should start with this part. it is called * Idle control Valve *  . on a van it is not that easy to get to but i was able to get it changed and it seems to of fixed the issue. Now that it is fixed, off to a friends house i go. He lives about a hour and 1/2 away ( due to traffic issues on the interstate). I take back roads. So i get about  45 mins from my house and i have a insta flat. I pull over and ... no spare, and no jack. so i call said friend and he come to save me. also a hour away. We walk down the road to the Mexican restaurant and get back in time for him to show up. We get the tire off and see the hole in it is about the size of my pinky finger. three plugs side by side fixes this issue. Now we are on our way ... again to this friends house. I notice a roaring sound that is getting louder now. yes  yes. now the wheel bearing is going out, But i did make it to his house and home. very loud roaring now. nice Adventure huh? 

Cute Pup

A friend of mine stopped in for a visit last week. We have not hung out for years . was really nice to see him. but... his dog was awesome rofl
